Vinayaka Chathurthi - the annual worship at Sri Guruvayurappan Temple

Vinayaka Chathurthi (Ganesh Chathurthi)  is a special day to honor Sri Ganesha. who isthe embodiment of intelligence (Buddhi) and achievement (Siddhi). The elephant-head of Sri Ganesha is a symbol of intelligence and wisdom. Vinayaka Chathurthi  leads the long line of festivals that follow this year. There is an astronomical significance for Vinayaka Chathurthi that is celebrated on the fourth day of the bright half of  chinga masam ( Bhadrapada month).

At Sri Guruvayurappan Temple the following events are planned

6:00 AM Maha Ganapthi homam  ( you are welcome to cosponsor this ritual)
The special nivedyam on this day is  Otta Appam ( you may sponsor this)
Special Deepa aradhana  at Ganapathi sannidhi  in the evening
Modaka nivedyam ( on prior sponsorship basis only)
Karuka mala ( grass ) for Ganapathi is very auspicious on this day ( special request needed)

Since the temple is going to be filled with devotees to listen to Swami Udith Chaithanya, we request that any special pooja sponsorship at Ganapathi sannidhi has to be prearranged.
