 | Vinayaka Chathurthi - the annual worship at Sri Guruvayurappan Temple
Vinayaka Chathurthi (Ganesh Chathurthi) is a special day to honor Sri Ganesha. who isthe embodiment of intelligence (Buddhi) and achievement (Siddhi). The elephant-head of Sri Ganesha is a symbol of intelligence and wisdom. Vinayaka Chathurthi leads the long line of festivals that follow this year. There is an astronomical significance for Vinayaka Chathurthi that is celebrated on the fourth day of the bright half of chinga masam ( Bhadrapada month).
At Sri Guruvayurappan Temple the following events are planned
6:00 AM Maha Ganapthi homam ( you are welcome to cosponsor this ritual) The special nivedyam on this day is Otta Appam ( you may sponsor this) Special Deepa aradhana at Ganapathi sannidhi in the evening Modaka nivedyam ( on prior sponsorship basis only) Karuka mala ( grass ) for Ganapathi is very auspicious on this day ( special request needed)
Since the temple is going to be filled with devotees to listen to Swami Udith Chaithanya, we request that any special pooja sponsorship at Ganapathi sannidhi has to be prearranged. |
